Insect Control Needed to Stop Yellow Ants

by Carl Jackson April 30, 2018

There’s been alot of pressure put on the Palaszczuk Government to provide more funding to control yellow crazy ants in the Far North before they destroy biodiversity in the Wet Tropics’ Rainforests.

The Turnbull Government has promised $8.8million towards the cause, while Labor promised $7.5million if elected.

The State Government promised $3million but wants a 20/80 funding split with the Commonwealth.

If these ants are not eradicated they will transform the Wet Tropics rainforests, a World Heritage listed site, forever.

The yellow crazy ants are known to form super colonies and eradicate all other insect life as well as lizards and small birds and mammals in the area.
