A Double Whammy for Bees

by admin March 17, 2018

Research conducted by the University of California researchers in collaboration with researchers at the University of Bologna has provided some insight into what may be causing the worrying worldwide declines in bee populations.

One of the contributing factors is the destruction of their habitat for agricultural use which has reduced biodiversity, diminishing nectar which bees need. Bees are also coming into contact with pesticides near treated fields which damages their health and further threatens their existence.

Given that bee populations are already under threat, it’s important we don’t kill bees but find a safer and environmentally friendly way of keeping them away such as insect screens. Having your doors and windows covered will ensure these endangered creatures don’t accidentally enter your home but stay in the outdoors where they belong, without the threat of losing their lives inside your home.
