A new study has shown that West Australians are the least confident in Australia dealing with venomous bites and stings.

A survey conducted by Seqirus, found that 62 per cent of rural West Australians were unsure of first aid for venomous creatures, which is higher than the national average of 48 per cent.

They survey examined how Australians prepare for summer, with the revelation that many do not prepare for the threats of enjoying time outdoors.

It’s staggering that only 11 per cent of Australians thought refreshing their knowledge of first aid for bites and stings from venomous creatures was a top priority in summer. Most people were most concerned with weight loss programs, diets and holiday planning.
